COMMUNITY NOTICE: FIRE HYDRANT TESTING

Heads up, Rogersville! Throughout the entire month of September, our crews will be out in the community testing and inspecting fire hydrants across the city.

Why do we do this?- Routine inspections and flushing are strictly required to ensure every hydrant is fully operational, has adequate water pressure, and is ready to go at a moment's notice in case of an emergency.

What you need to know-

Give Us Room- You will likely see our firefighters and apparatus working directly on or next to the roadways in your neighborhoods and subdivisions. Please drive carefully and give them plenty of room to work safely!

As always, if you see our crews out working, feel free to stop and say hi or take a truck tour! 👋

Thank you for your support as we work to keep the City of Rogersville safe! 🚒💦

INCIDENT UPDATE: VEHICLE INTO STRUCTURE

At approximately 5:00 p.m. this afternoon, crews were dispatched to the 600 block of South Farm Road 197 for a report of a vehicle that had struck a house. While responding, units received updates that two individuals were possibly trapped.

First-arriving fire crews found a single vehicle impacting the side of the home. Due to the compromised integrity of the building, firefighters acted quickly to stabilize and shore up the structure to secure the scene.

Both individuals were extricated from the vehicle and transported by EMS to a local hospital.

Crews remain on scene continuing additional structural shoring to ensure the home is fully stabilized before clearing and returning to service.

Please keep those involved in your thoughts, and remember to slow down and use caution when driving near emergency scenes.
