We need your help to find William Schmutzer, who is missing from Sevier County.

The 74-year-old is 6’0”, 228 lbs., with gray hair and hazel eyes. William was last seen Monday morning in Sevierville, TN.

He has a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance.

Hawkins County Rescue Squad would like to congratulate Rescue Technician Sydney Kinnick on recently passing her National Registry Exam and becoming licensed as a EMT in the State of Tennessee. We are very proud of your accomplishments and proud to have you as part of our agency!

Update 3:56 PM: Emergency Crews are clearing the scene and traffic should return to normal shortly. Please still use caution in the area.

Update 3:23 PM: Highway 11W both East and Westbound are currently shut down. An air medical helicopter from Highlands Emergency Air Rescue & Transport will be landing at the scene.

Motorist are advised to use caution in the area of Highway 11W at Phipps Bend Road in Surgoinsville as emergency crews are on scene of a motor vehicle crash with injuries involving a motorcycle. An air medical helicopter has been requested to land at the scene. Any additional updates will be posted here on our page as they become available. Information about the vehicle(s) and or patient(s) involved will not be included in this post or any updates. We ask you keep those involved in your thoughts and prayers.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the heroes who never made it home. Today is more than a day off or a holiday — it is a day to reflect on the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today.

From all of us at Hawkins County Rescue Squad, we honor the fallen, remember their service, and remain forever grateful for their sacrifice and legacy.

UPDATE: Martin Pellasma has been located. Thank you for sharing!

Previously Released:

A has been issued on behalf of the Cocke County Sheriff’s Office for 71-year-old Martin Pellasma. He was last seen on May 19th, wearing a black motorcycle jacket with red stitching and gray and white motorcycle pants. He is believed to be traveling on a 2020 gray Yamaha TW200 motorcycle with TN tag 937ZW3 and could be in North Carolina.

Martin is 5’8” tall, 200 lbs., and is bald with blue eyes. He has a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance.
