It's been real, and it's been fun, but the splash pad at Rogersville Recreation Park is officially closed for the season.

Even though the splash pad uses a closed-loop, recirculating system, we always want to be mindful of any water loss. Accordingly, work is already underway to locate and eliminate an underground leak.

Thanks to everyone who has enjoyed the splash pad this summer, and we hope you continue to visit the park every season of the year.

A save-the-date update from the all-new Rogersville Chamber of Commerce: the 2026 Christmas parade has been moved up a day to Thursday, December 3.

Contact Town Hall if your business or organization would like a spot in the parade. Everyone is welcome to participate -- school groups, civic organizations, businesses, churches and more.

More details will be announced closer to the holiday season.

Kay Ivey: "In accordance with the Presidential Order, I am directing flags be lowered across the state of Alabama to half-staff effective at 6 p.m. today through Sunset, Tuesday, September 1, 2026, in memory of legendary American singer, songwriter, actress, businesswoman and humanitarian Dolly Parton who passed away on August 25, 2026, at the age of 80."

Monday morning, August 24: Water is turned off for parts of Rogersville Recreation Park this morning while workers address a leak at the splash pad. Water is off at the splash pad and nearby restrooms. The restroom facilities near the ballfields remain open. This post will be updated.

An event (JM's Journey benefit, autism awareness and car show) will be taking place throughout the day on Saturday (August 22) at Rogersville Recreation Park. This is a privately organized, public event; the splash pad will be open as usual. In an effort to maximize water pressure at the park and maintain acceptable restroom operations during the expected large crowds, the restroom facilities closest to the splash pad will be closed during the event. The park's newest restroom facilities, located near the ballfields (but still inside the walking trail area), will be open. Portable toilets will also be available.

Public Notice: Pre-Bid Conference (Lawn Maintenance / Mowing Services) - A pre-bid conference will be held Monday, August 31, 9 a.m., for parties interested in potentially providing lawn maintenance (mowing) services to the Town of Rogersville. Please call Town Hall at 256-247-5446 if you would like to attend this meeting.
