On August 27, 2026, Rogersville Police responded to the O’Reilly Auto Parts parking lot on Highway 72 regarding a male passed out inside a vehicle. The driver was identified as Keely Patrick Harding of Tennessee. During the investigation, officers developed probable cause to search the vehicle and located 5 grams of Fentanyl, drug packaging, and drug paraphernalia. Harding was taken into custody and charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance and additional drug-related offenses.

New teen drivers, car lines, school buses, teachers, and general traffic will all be sharing the roads. Please be mindful of all the extra vehicles and pay attention to your driving. The safety of the citizens means a cellphone call or text message can wait. Let’s try to give some grace to each other as we navigate more traffic.

🛑 School Bus Safety Reminder 🚌

As students head back to school, the Rogersville Police Department reminds everyone to slow down and stay alert around school buses.

When a school bus stops and extends its stop arm with flashing red lights:
🔸 STOP and remain stopped until the lights stop flashing and the stop arm is retracted.
🔸 Never pass a stopped school bus unless you are on the opposite side of a divided highway with a physical median.
🔸 Watch for children crossing the road—they may be difficult to see and can unexpectedly enter the roadway.
🔸 Eliminate distractions, put your phone away, and allow extra time during morning and afternoon school hours.

🚓 Officers will conduct school bus safety enforcement throughout the school year to protect our students. Violations can result in significant fines and place children's lives at risk.

Let's all do our part to keep our students safe. One moment of patience could save a child's life.

During National Police Week, the Rogersville Police Department pauses to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers across our nation—especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

We proudly remember and will never forget Investigator John Randall McCrary and his selfless service to our community. His sacrifice will forever remain a part of our department’s history and our hearts.

This week serves as a time to reflect on the lives of the fallen, support the families they left behind, and recognize the men and women who continue to serve and protect each day.
