The Sonoma State University Police Department is concerned about recent alcohol and other drug-related incidents on campus resulting in arrests.
INCIDENTS:
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 12:35 p.m., officers responded to Parking Lot G regarding a reckless driver. Upon arrival, they located non-affiliate Taylor Janoski (age 31) who had just been involved in a minor traffic collision. A subsequent investigation resulted in Janoski being arrested for being under the influence of alcohol and drugs (23152(g) VC).

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 8:57 a.m., non-affiliate Daniel Rosascruz (age 32) was contacted in Parking Lot R3 while in possession of an open container of alcohol and ma*****na. Rosascruz was found to be on probation. Rosascruz was subsequently arrested for violation of probation and for the alcohol violation (1203.2(A) PC; 25608 BP).

On Wednesday, May 6, 2016, at 3 p.m., an officer attempted to make an enforcement stop on a driver who failed to stop at a stop sign on Redwood Circle and Sequoia Way. The driver, non-affiliated Elizabeth Turley (age 30), initially failed to stop, leading officers for an approximate four minute pursuit on E. Cotati Avenue, where they finally stopped at Maurice Avenue and Mercedes Way, in Rohnert Park. Turley was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest, battery on a police officer and evading arrest.

We are sharing this information to increase awareness of incidents involving individuals not affiliated with the campus in the hopes of reducing harm to our community.
