Yesterday (5-26) dirt work started on the new development. The first phase will have 18 lots available to build a new single family homes on later this year. Phase 2 and 3 will be built over the next couple years, totaling 54 lots when all 3 phases are complete. If you want to drive by and see the progress that would be fine but please be cautious of the equipment in the area.

Roland night out is all set up. Come out and enjoy some food and drinks while the kids dance. We have the new solar generator up and going.

After more discussion at last night's Council meeting. City Council has decided to continue with the new contract with Pratt Sanitation that includes the curbside recycling.

City Council will reevaluate this after the contract has expired.

This means everyone will be charged for garbage and recycling.

Prairie Waste Solutions will be picking up their carts the last pick-up day of June 26.

Pratt Sanitation will be bringing carts around sometime in June. When we hear of the exact date we will put it out. As soon as the recycling flyers are done these will go out to residents and be posted.

There have also been some questions on what everything means on the Utility Bills.
GA is Garbage
LF is Landfill which goes with garbage
SW is Sewer
WA is Water
ET is the Water Tax

(Note): We have received questions on the DNR's requirement, and the Council will be discussing this at the May 20th meeting. Meeting starts at 6:00pm at City Hall.

The City would like to clear up some confusion on the Garbage/Recycling letters that went out.

In the first paragraph of the letter it states implement New DNR requirements for Recycling.

This means Recycling is not optional everyone will get a recycling cart and be charged for this.

Sorry for any confusing. If you have already turned in your paper with 0 or the recycling blank this has been changed to 1.

Roland Municipal Pool Season Passes, Individual Passes, Swim Lessons, Private Lessons, & Pool Party Rental forms ARE NOW AVALIABLE

The 2026 Roland Municipal Pool Season is expected to Kick off Memorial Day Weekend May 23 & 24

Then fully open May 30th for the Summer.

The night of May 12 & May 13 City Hall will be open until 6:00 pm to take forms.

Otherwise, you can stop by City Hall to get all forms or print them off the city website page and return to City Hall.

Please make all checks payable to City of Roland

If you plan to pay online with a Credit Card, please use the online bill pay link on the City website page, Click on Miscellaneous Payments under the rental date PLEASE PUT WHAT KIND OF PASS YOU ARE PAYING FOR IN DETAIL. There is a $3.00 or higher fee for all Credit Cards.

Metal recycling day is this Saturday. May 9th. Drop off location is 301 e walnut. Items need to be dropped off by noon on Saturday.
