Our goal is to bring the community together to help keep local children warm this winter. We’re still finalizing the donation dates and details, but we couldn’t wait to share the news!

🚨 SCAM ALERT — PLEASE SHARE 🚨

We want to remind everyone to be cautious of phone scams involving individuals pretending to be law enforcement officers.

Scammers may claim that you have a warrant, missed jury duty, owe a fine, or are facing arrest unless you immediately send money.

NO legitimate law enforcement agency will call you and instruct you to MAIL CASH to avoid arrest, clear a warrant, or pay a fine.

If someone calls claiming to be law enforcement and demands that you mail cash, purchase gift cards, send cryptocurrency, wire money, or make an immediate payment — STOP. DO NOT SEND MONEY.

Scammers can be very convincing. They may know your name or other personal information, use the name of a real officer, and even make the caller ID appear to come from a legitimate agency.

📞 Hang up and contact the law enforcement agency directly using a verified phone number. Do not call a number provided by the person demanding payment.

Please talk with elderly family members, friends, and neighbors about these scams as they are often specifically targeted.

When in doubt, hang up and verify. A legitimate law enforcement agency will not threaten you into mailing cash.

One of our community members lost her home last night and, unfortunately, lost everything.

She is having to start over from the very basics and is in need of anything and everything to help get her back on her feet.

Donations of new or gently used items would be greatly appreciated, including:

• Clothing & shoes
• Toiletries & personal hygiene items
• Towels & washcloths
• Bedding & blankets
• Household necessities
• Gift cards
• Any other basic everyday essentials

The Roland Police Department is asking our community to come together and support a local family who has experienced the devastating loss of their home in a fire.

In times like these, Roland has always shown what it means to be a caring and compassionate community. Whether it’s clothing, shoes, diapers, gift cards, or simply sharing this post, every act of kindness makes a difference.

Please take a moment to review the attached flyer for the family’s current needs. Donations can be dropped off at Mustard Seed Early Learning, where they will be delivered directly to the family.

Let’s show this family they are not facing this difficult journey alone.

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they begin to rebuild.

🚨 ‼️TRAFFIC ADVISORY – WOODLAND HILLS 🚨
Please avoid the Woodland Hills area due to an active house fire.
Emergency personnel are on scene working to safely contain the fire. Please do not attempt to drive around emergency vehicles or through residents’ yards to get around the scene. These actions create additional hazards, can damage private property, and put both first responders and the public at risk.
Please use an alternate route and allow our firefighters, law enforcement, and EMS personnel the space they need to do their jobs safely.

Due to the NOW Coalition funding for the medication drop box program ending, the prescription medication drop box located at the Police Department is currently unavailable for use.

At this time, the drop box has been locked and can no longer accept medications for disposal.

We understand this service has been a valuable resource for safely disposing of unused, expired, or unwanted medications, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Should alternative disposal options become available, we will provide an update to the community.
