As Attorney of Record for the Rolesville Fire Department, I’m proud to see our consolidation with the Town of Rolesville, NC becoming official on July 1, 2025. A new chapter begins!

Last night, I attended the inaugural meeting of Rolesville Station 15 - a new nonprofit created by the RRFD Board to continue fire education and community service. Grateful to witness the legacy live on in such a meaningful way. 🔥🚒

On Friday, I attended a round table discussion on affordable senior housing hosted by our State Representative James Roberson. The group expressed a strong desire to find a solution to this on-going and wide spread problem. Some excellent resources were revealed as well. I am optimistic about bringing more affordable senior housing to Rolesville.

Last month I reported that Fitch Irick, owners of The Grande, had agreed to limit rent increases to $100/month. This week I learned that ownership changed course. Now, tenants are being interviewed and increases are being determined on a case by case basis. I had a long conversation with Sheldon Henman, Regional Manager, and expressed my disappointment and frustration over the large rent increases some tenants are facing. While Mr. Henman is correct that they are “not doing anything illegal,” their actions are displacing seniors on fixed incomes who can not afford large rent increases. I encourage others to voice your concerns about the price increase practices at The Grande. Mr. Henman can be reached at 704-941-3343.

I am happy to report that a resolution has been obtained with respect to the significant rent increases residents were anticipating at The Grande at Granite Falls. Ownership has agreed to reduce the increase to $100 for the next lease renewal. This is a huge relief for many of the residents.

It was a privilege to spend some time today volunteering with one of Rolesville’s local nonprofits, North East Wake Backpack Buddies. Not just today, but everyday - this organization needs volunteers to help support them in their efforts to feed 450 food insecure students at 21 Wake County schools every week. If you are looking for a place to give time or money, this is a great place to donate and it impacts our local community.
