As we wrap up our final staff spotlight of the school year, we are proud to recognize Dana Kallenbach, who serves USD 217 as both a 3rd Grade ELA and Math teacher and a Kindergarten Para. Dana is passionate about supporting students at every stage of learning and values the relationships she has built throughout the district.

Dana says her favorite part of working at USD 217 is the people she works with each day. She describes her coworkers as supportive and kind and says their encouragement helps make her job possible. She also deeply values the connections she has with her students and enjoys watching them grow, overcome challenges, and become excited about learning.

Outside of school, Dana enjoys hiking in the mountains, reading historical fiction, and spending time with her nine grandchildren.

One quote that inspires Dana is, “It always seems impossible until it is done,” by Nelson Mandela. She also finds guidance in Psalm 19:14: “May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.”

Dana represents the dedication, compassion, and positivity that make USD 217 such a special place. We are grateful for the impact she has on students, staff, and the entire school community.

Rolla Library will have SUMMER READING programs for birth to fifth grade, with reading challenges for 6th grade through adults! Sign up at the Rolla Library to learn more about the programs and the challenges!

Summer Reading Programs will be June 3, 10, 17, and 24th with the final party on June 29. Read your way to prizes this summer!

Last Saturday was a beautiful celebration of hard work, memories, and new beginnings.

Parents watched their children graduate with tears in their eyes, alumni returned to cheer on the next generation, and throughout the day there were hugs, laughter, and moments no one will forget.

Congratulations to Valedictorian-Madylin Huber, Salutatorian- Alivia Bolin, the many scholarship recipients, and every graduate who crossed the stage on Saturday.

A special thank you to guest speaker, Shae Kirby, for giving words of encouragement to our graduates.

Thank you to every person who worked behind the scenes to make the ceremony run smoothly, as well as the BOE and our community for their continued support of our students and school.

Kimberly Clark has been an incredible part of the USD 217 family for many years, inspiring students and coworkers alike with her dedication, positivity, and passion for education. Throughout her career, she has worn many hats, teaching 3rd and 4th grade Social Studies, 3rd grade handwriting, 5th grade Reading and Math, and 5th and 6th grade Science. No matter the subject or grade level, Kimberly has always brought enthusiasm, encouragement, and heart into the classroom each and every day.

One of Kimberly’s favorite things about USD 217 is the small-school atmosphere and the strong relationships built within the district. She loves that staff members truly get to know students on an individual level and appreciates being part of such a fun and supportive team. Her caring personality and commitment to students have made a lasting difference in the lives of so many.

Outside of school, Kimberly enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active. Whether she’s doing yardwork, gardening, or searching for arrowheads, she loves making the most of her time outside and enjoying the simple things in life.

As Kimberly begins her well-earned retirement, USD 217 wants to thank her for the countless ways she has impacted our schools and community. Her hard work, compassion, and dedication have helped shape generations of students, and her presence will truly be missed.

Congratulations, Kimberly, on your retirement! We are so grateful for everything you have given to USD 217, and we wish you endless happiness, relaxation, and adventure in this exciting new chapter of life. You will always be a treasured part of the USD 217 family!

Staff Spotlight: Sherry Pinkley

We are proud to highlight Sherry Pinkley, our Preschool and Kindergarten teacher at USD 217.

Mrs. Pinkley shared that her favorite part of the district is her students. She loves their energy and how much they learn and grow throughout the year. She also enjoys the joy they bring to each day, as they often say and do things that make her laugh.

Mrs. Pinkley has been married for almost 30 years and is the proud parent of two great kids. She knew as early as fifth grade that she wanted to become a teacher. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, especially camping, fishing, and golfing.

We are grateful for the care, experience, and positivity Mrs. Pinkley brings to her classroom each day.
