From Mrs. Angie Howard, 4th Grade Teacher and annual trip organizer:
"An outstanding group of Rolla Middle School 6th graders represented our school, community, and country with incredible class and respect during their recent trip to Washington, DC, May 25–27!

Students proudly represented RMS, Rolla Public Schools, and the Rolla community while visiting our nation’s capital and surrounding historic sites. Highlights of the trip included visiting with an Honor Flight group from Columbus, Ohio, meeting a Holocaust survivor at the Holocaust Museum, and touring the many memorials, monuments, and landmarks throughout Washington, DC.

Even with a 4-hour flight delay and spending nearly 6 hours total in the airport, students maintained positive attitudes, showed patience, and continued to represent RMS with pride. The experiences, conversations, and lessons learned during this trip will stay with these students for years to come. Students not only learned so much, but also had a lot of fun making memories with classmates along the way." ❤️🤍💙

Congratulations to Meghan Duncan, Support Staff Team Member of the Year, and Madison Ortt, New (to R31) Teacher of the Year!

Meghan Duncan serves as the CORE Data/Student Information Systems manager at Rolla Public Schools and is an integral part of district operations. Here is an excerpt from one nomination: "Meghan is amazing. She is incredibly knowledgeable in her work and is always quick to respond and lend a hand. Her work in our student information system assists with data integration in every software platform in the district. Meghan's job is complex and involves nearly every building and department in the district, yet she always manages to get things done in a friendly manner. Most of what she does happens quietly behind the scenes."

Madison Ortt teaches Art at both Rolla Middle School and Rolla High School. Her positive attitude and giving spirit have made an impact on students, staff, and families at both buildings this year. "Madi has been such an amazing addition to the Rolla family! She cares so much about each and every one of her students and instills so much confidence within them. Madi has also been such a fun colleague to have! She started an after-school teachers' club to teach crochet! Madi embodies Rolla's spirit and core values to a T and encourages her students to do the same every day."

We have SO MANY exceptional faculty and staff at Rolla Public Schools, and the Most Valuable Bulldog program is just one way we shine the spotlight on their resilience, dedication, and spirit. Thank you to the Phelps County Community Foundation Board and all who contributed to their Early Childhood Center fundraising goal! The PCCF Board and Rolla Board of Education met last night for a special check presentation in the amount of 1.95 million dollars. This generous donation offsets the district's purchase of the Early Childhood facility, scheduled to open in August 2026, and will impact residents of the Rolla School District for generations to come.
