From nuclear submarines to university research — Richard Kuehl's career transition is the kind of story that reminds us why this work matters.

After years as a Nuclear Plant Supervisor and Nuclear Power Electrician Mate in the U.S. Navy, Richard knew exactly what he wanted to do next. With support from the Columbia Job Center's JVSG program and the Career Skills Program, he landed an internship at the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR) — and is now on track for a full-time role as an Integration Specialist.
