Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for the Floyd County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers “20th Annual Tree Walk" on Saturday, October 31, from 10am-12pm.

We will meet at the Mt. Berry Trail Head, behind the USPS at 130 Coligni Way, Rome, GA. Please dress for the weather, wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your own water. The walk will be held even if it is a little misty/rainy. If it is pouring rain, the walk will be canceled. The walk will be led by Keith Mickler, John Hendrickson and Terry Paige.

Every fall millions of birds migrate over our heads each night journeying towards their winter habitats. If you love birds, you might enjoy the interesting stats and reports from Bird Cast. Below is the dashboard for Floyd County.

Thank you again to everyone who participated in the Great Southeast Pollinator Census in August.

Over the course of two days, thousands of people across six states spent 15 minutes observing pollinators, resulting in a total of 44,000 census uploads. Additionally, more than 450 educators reported incorporating the census into their STEM programs this year.
