My Maternal Grandparents, J.C. and Mattie Tatum Youngblood. They were two of the hardest working people I have ever known. Besides keeping an immaculate house and canning and freezing and cooking three meals a day, she was totally committed to volunteering as a Pink Lady at RT Jones Hospital. He was the Line Foreman with GA Power. His crew built most of the original power lines in Cherokee County including the one through Lathemtown. They were devoted Christians, committed members of the First Baptist Church in Canton. He sang in the Brotherhood Choir and could sing both tenor and bass and knew “Fa So La” singing (shaped notes). He also was a very committed quail and rabbit hunter and an excellent marksman. He raised and trained his own bird dogs. I miss them. They loved me unconditionally.

This photo is reportedly my great, great grandparents, Thomas Jefferson Warren (Feb. 1849-Feb. 23, 1921) and Martha Pinson Warren (c1850-Jan.12, 1923), grandparents of Ethel Warren Lathem (Mrs. Charles Wesley Lathem). Her father was Robert L. Warren (April 14, 1866-Jan. 27, 1948) Mother was Delsey Little Warren (Oct. 14, 1869-June 30, 1941) We have almost no information on my Warren ancestry. Can anyone help? We also have some family suspicion that there are Cherokee ancestors in Ethel Warren Lathem’s ancestors, but cannot confirm this.

The little house next to the Store. It served as a Doctor's Office. Dr. Mark Mashburn, Sr. Practiced here certain days each week, the other days in Cu***ng. Does anyone know the days in Lathemtown? Then Ray and Leila Lathem bought it and lived in for 50 years.
