Ron Swinford for working so hard getting all the information to share and present with the public and our commissioners. Again to Brice Wood and his team for making the necessary changes to the ordinance.
​While the data center ordinance may not be perfect or win everyone's total agreement, the Etowah Republican Assembly views tonight’s commission meeting as a vital step forward.
​We face plenty of uncertainties regarding potential long-term impacts, but establishing these initial guardrails was necessary. We can always build on this foundation to make local protections stronger and tighter as we learn more.
Thank you to the commissioners for taking this crucial first step in protecting our community.

We love it when leadership/public servants/elected officials say or claim:

"that 'the voters have spoken" it has devolved into empty rhetoric designed to shield political inaction and manufacture consent. Elected officials eagerly invoke the will of the people to win campaigns, yet routinely disregard clear public consensus once in office. Stop telling us you're listening when your actions prove otherwise—treating citizens like a passive audience while serving political self-interest isn't leadership, it's arrogant manipulation.

Our freedoms are so vast that we’ve become spoiled—sometimes even willfully giving up our rights, perhaps because self-governance isn't easy.
