Wright Bagby is a lifelong Roman, retired business owner, community servant, and Republican candidate running for re-election to the Floyd County Commission Post 2. He has been married to his wife, Pat, for nearly 50 years, and together they have a daughter and son, and five grandchildren. Bagby is a graduate of Darlington School and Auburn University, and previously served the community as a memb

er of the Rome City Commission and as the mayor of the City of Rome. He has extensive volunteer experience working with the Rome/Floyd Planning Commission, the Rome/Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority, Northwest Georgia Boys & Girls Clubs, and a variety of other organizations. He currently serves on the board for the South Rome Redevelopment Corporation and the Community Foundation for Greater Rome. The Bagbys are active members of First Baptist Church of Rome.

Fun Facts about Wright Bagby!

1. Coke or Pepsi?
Diet Coke

2. Which holiday do you enjoy the most?
Christmas—my religion is very important to me—-and so is family. Christmas puts both together. After our fantastic Christmas Eve Service at First Baptist Church the whole family walks to our house and we have a great meal, great fellowship, and great gift exchanges. As a side note, our grandchildren are the 7th consecutive generation in First Baptist Church.

3. Favorite thing to do with your grandchildren?
I don’t have a special event that I like best with my grandchildren, they are just fun to be with whatever we are doing whether it be work or play or anything in between.

4. Favorite place to eat in Rome?
My favorite place to eat in Rome is at home. Pat is a fantastic cook!

5. If you could meet any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be?
There are so many great and interesting people it is hard to decide, but I think it might be Thomas Jefferson. I would love to talk to him about things like our Constitution and just how in the world those men ever came together on all of the concepts that formed our Country.
