✨What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? I enjoy being a member of the Rome Fire Department because it gives me the opportunity to serve my community when people need help the most. I value the teamwork and trust required to overcome challenges and keep our community safe. I also enjoy the camaraderie and strong relationships built through serving alongside others. Mentoring younger members and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need is especially rewarding. Being able to serve, support my fellow firefighters and help prepare the next generation is what makes this profession so meaningful to me.

✨Years of service? 4 years

✨What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? I enjoy the comradery that is shared between every crew within the department. Everyone is treated like family inside and outside of work. I have made some friendships that I know will last a lifetime. I also enjoy serving the community I grew up in and enjoy making a difference in someone’s life no matter the circumstance.

• Keep heaters away from bedding, curtains, and clothing. 🔌🚫🛏️
• Don’t overload outlets/use damaged chargers/extension cords. ⚡📵
• Know where your nearest exits and fire extinguishers are. 🚪🧯
• If the alarm sounds, take it seriously and get out quickly. 🚨➡️🏃‍♀️

✨What is your favorite thing about working for RFD? The enjoyment of being part of a family whose goal is to help others in their time of need. I take pride in maintaining the apparatus, the equipment on the truck, and ensuring it is always ready. I also love being part of workforce that will help one of our own when needed.

Clean Filters. Prevent Fires. 🔥
A little maintenance can make a big difference.
Dust, lint, and clogged filters can build up inside appliances and create a serious fire hazard. Take a few minutes to clean and inspect appliances such as dryers, air conditioners, bathroom exhaust fans, refrigerators, and HVAC systems.

✔️ Clean lint traps after every load
✔️ Replace or clean filters regularly
✔️ Remove dust from vents and appliance coils
✔️ Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations
