Congratulations to 1160th Transportation Company First Sergeant Alex “Smoke” Stembridge on his retirement Sunday, 15 February 2026 after over 21 years of dedicated service in the Georgia Army National Guard.

First Sergeant Alex Stembridge served as the First Sergeant of the 1160th Transportation Company in Rome, GA. 1SG Stembridge graduated from Southwest High School (Macon, GA) and enlisted in the Army National Guard in April of 2004 as a Motor Transport Operator (88M). 1SG Stembridge’s assignments include: A Co. 148th BSB. 1230th TC, 230th BSC, 1177th TC, E ESC 878 EN BN, and the 1160th Transportation Company. 1SG Stembridge's deployments include: JTF-Katrina in 2005 with the 148th BSB, Iraq in 2006-2008 with the 1230th TC and 1844th TC Illinois ARNG, Qatar in 2010-2011 with the 1177th TC, and Afghanistan in 2013-2015 with the 1230th TC, where he was attached with Special Operations.
