UPDATE: DRAKE LADON KEEF IS NOW IN CUSTODY!

🚨 CAPTURED: FLOYD COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE TOP 10 FUGITIVE🚨

The Floyd County Sheriff's Office has taken custody of Drake Ladon Keef, who was listed as a Top 10 Most Wanted fugitive.

Keef was wanted on multiple warrants, including:

• Hit and Run
• Aggravated Battery
• Driving with a Suspended License

Thank you to Bartow County S.O. for their assistance with this arrest. Mr. Keef has been booked into the Floyd County Jail.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

The Floyd County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is diligently working to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of Stevie Marie Thompson, age 35, of Rome.

The suspect related to this ongoing investigation is Drake Ladon Keef, age 32, of Aragon. There are active warrants for Keef’s arrest pertaining to this case. The Floyd County Police Department asks that if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Keef that you reach out to E-911 or submit an anonymous tip via the Crime Line (706-236-5000), or via our mobile application.

Due to the ongoing investigation, details are not being released at this time. If you have any information regarding the incident that took place on August 22, 2026 at approximately 12-1am in the area of Chulio Rd and Cole Rd, please contact Investigator Camron Roubieu at 706-235-7766 or [email protected]

UPDATE: The victim has been identified. The photos have been removed to protect the victim’s privacy. If you have any information regarding the collision that occurred in the area of Chulio Rd and Cole Rd last night, please share that information. Thank you all for your assistance.

The Floyd County Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the victim of a pedestrian versus vehicle collision that occurred last night in the area of Chulio Rd and Cole Rd.

Investigators have been unable to confirm her identity, and are sharing photos of her tattoos in hopes that someone may recognize them.

The victim is described as a white female, possibly in her 30s, with red-brown hair.

Out of respect for the victim, only images that are believed to be helpful for identification are being shared.
