💧 TOWN GREEN FOUNTAIN UPDATE 💧

Our crews are still working to locate and repair the leak affecting the Town Green fountain. At this time, the source of the leak has not been identified, and we do not have an estimated timeline for repairs.

To help with the investigation, the City is bringing in additional resources to assist in locating what appears to be a deep underground leak.

We appreciate your patience and will share updates as soon as more information becomes available.

City of Rome offices will be closed on tomorrow, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth Federal Holiday.

Please note the following service schedule changes:

🗑️ Solid Waste
• Monday and Tuesday collections operated as normal.
• Thursday and Friday garbage and recycling routes will both be serviced on Thursday, June 18.
• No yard carts will be serviced on Thursday.

🚌 Rome Transit
• Closed Friday, June 19.

♻️ Walker Mountain Landfill
• Closed Friday, June 19.

City offices will resume normal business hours on Monday, June 22.

We are proud to congratulate two members of our Human Resources team on their leadership roles with the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA).

During the GLGPA Spring Conference, Kristy Shepard, Human Resources Director for the City of Rome, was elected President-Elect of the GLGPA Board of Directors. In this role, Kristy will help guide the organization as it supports and advances the human resources profession in local government throughout Georgia.

Additionally, Sarah Huffman, the City of Rome's Assistant Director of Human Resources & Risk Management, was selected to serve another year as Secretary of the GLGPA Board of Directors. Sarah's reappointment reflects the confidence her peers have in her leadership, professionalism, and dedication to the organization.

These appointments are a testament to the talent, expertise, and commitment found within the City of Rome team. We are incredibly proud of both Kristy and Sarah and know they will continue to represent our community with excellence while helping shape the future of local government human resources across Georgia.
