Apparently the budget meeting of April 7 is canceled. Check with the village to be sure.

The Village of Romeo budget meeting is April 7, not April 6 as I had originally thought. Please come if you are able.

I'm doing yard work on this beautiful day. Some of the cleanup is the cedar garland I roped around my porch for Christmas. Stopping for a break, I watched some teens walking together along N Main with a large cross held high. I couldn't help but cry because it struck me that this greenery once celebrated His birth, and I'm now bagging it away on the day He died for us. Thank you Lord for reminding me You are always here. I love you, too. May you all have a blessed Easter.

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

The Romeo Rotary will be hosting a meal packing event for Kids Coalition Against Hunger (KCAH) on Saturday, April 11, from 9am-Noon at Grace Lutheran Church, located at 7525 32 Mile Road, in Romeo.
KCAH works with a multitude of different organizations to provide 390-gram food packets; each packet provides enough nutrition for six adults or twelve kids. These packets are produced at schools, churches, and community halls and are called packaging events.
The kits will go to disaster relief for those impacted by food insecurities both here in the United States and across the globe.
We can use your help at our local packaging event! If you have a couple of hours to give, please sign up here:
https://kidscoalitionagainsthunger.org/news-events/event-calendar.html/event/2026/04/11/romeo-community-for-others-meal-pack-2026/545207
Click the yellow Register button to sign up. The registration is a ticketed event, but the cost is FREE.
It will be a fun time with friends and neighbors while doing a whole lot of good for kids everywhere. We’re providing pizza for lunch!
Learn more about KCAH at https://kidscoalitionagainsthunger.org/

With thanks,
Sharon Smith, Romeo Rotary President

Hi everyone! It was good to see a great turnout at the village Board of Trustees meeting last night! At that meeting, we learned that there is an open trustee seat. As many of you know, I have run for village trustee a couple of times now. Thus, at last night's closing public comment I expressed my continued interest to serve as a Trustee for you in this village we know and love. My roots here are deep with my family ties that include the Reardons and Mortons in the 1800s, to the more recent Dietlins, Buschs and Smiths (my grandfather who owned the Wm Geo Smith Hardware here that opened in 1925). It's rare that I miss a trustee meeting, so I'm very aware of the current concerns and issues. I'm currently a member of the Romeo Rotary, and have served for 3 years on the Village Tree Board and HDC, and now ZBA as well. I volunteer at the Romeo Kezar Library Archives and have volunteered for the DDA at many events. It sounds busy, but never too busy for this place of my birth, and place that is home! Being appointed as trustee means that I would give up the village board seats, but it will be worth it to do a greater service to you. I do hope that you will reach out to me to chat or share any concerns you have about the issues we face. ❤

I hope you will join me in voicing against paid parking in Romeo! It will drive business away. Join the Romeo Against Paid Parking fb page and sign the petition. Thank you!
