Thinking about pruning/chopping those trees? CAUTION!!!!!
Make sure you check the tree for signs of squirrel nests. Babies are out there, and care should be taken to not remove any trees/branches that have nesting squirrels in them.
If squirrel nests are accidentally disturbed, LEAVE THE BABIES; place them in an open box close to where the tree was taken down. If it is a cold day, tuck a hot water bottle(any jar/bottle with a tight-fitting lid filled with hot tap water and wrapped in a cloth) into the box. Once activity in the area has subsided, Mom will return to relocate the babies. Please give her the chance!
The following video/audio can also be used to get mom's attention: https://youtu.be/rxr53i2lI8s .
Questions? Call EWR 519-735-3919 and leave a message with your name and number. DO NOT REMOVE THE BABIES from the area until you have spoken with EWR.
