SB M-53/Van D**e near 32 Mile Advisory in Washington Township

Utility work under SB M-53/Van D**e, south of 32 Mile Road, requires closure to remove the pavement to install a new sanitary sewer for one week.

10am Wed, Aug. 12 – 5am Wed, Aug. 19:

SB M-53/Van D**e, south of 32 Mile, will be CLOSED
Detour is WB 34 Mile to SB Fisher to EB 32 Mile to SB Mound to EB 30 Mile to SB M-53

NB M-53 remains OPEN
Local access will be maintained

On Tuesday January 6th Bruce Twp hosted a M-53 Traffic Safety Meeting that was presented by Jim Santilli and his staff from National Transportation Safety Organization. It included Michigan State Police, Macomb County Sheriff, Romeo police, Shelby Police, Washington & Bruce Fire Dept. Macomb Couty Department of Roads, Michigan Department of Transportation, and leaders from Washington Twp., Bruce Twp., and Village of Romeo.
Discussion about traffic crash data, engineering, public education, and enforcement were all topics on how to make M-53 between M-59 and Bordman Rd a safer road to travel on!

ATTENTION:
Leadership from both communities, Bruce Twp. and Washington Twp are providing sandwiches and water and a place to keep warm at the Morton Street Seniors Center for the residents in the TRI-COMMUNITY area that do not have power.
It is open now and will be open for as long as the power is out.
