Romeoville Humane Society romeovillehumanesociety.org A common misconception is that we, as a local humane society, receive government funding.

Romeoville Humane Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill animal shelter that provides temporary housing and care to abandoned and neglected dogs and cats in search of their forever homes. Romeoville Humane Society was incorporated in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) in an effort to help the community’s stray and abused animals and to educate the community on important animal related issues. Although we are not part of the city of Romeoville, we try to work closely with them, as well as their animal control department to rescue as many animals as we can. All monies received to care for our rescued animals are earned either by our own fundraising efforts or donations from individuals and businesses. We are a no kill shelter and all of the animals we save are currently housed in licensed foster homes because we do not have a stand-alone building of our own. We are trying to acquire a building, as it will only increase our efforts to save animals and educate the community. If you are interested in helping us, there are many ways you can contribute. You could become a foster home, donate always needed money, or simply help us in our struggle to find a building by lending us your talents. Everyone has a place in our Humane Society; we just need to see where you will fit in. Please visit our "Volunteer Page" to see some of the incredible opportunities that we have for you and your family or organization.

‼️ WE ARE IN DIRE NEED FOR A FOSTER WITH NO OTHER CATS IN THE HOME. Please… help these wonderful bonded sisters by applying to foster before they are sent to animal control, a kill shelter, or allowed to leave the house and become outdoor cats. We have very little time before they suffer one of these terrible options.
They are great with kids and dogs. APPLY TO FOSTER - URGENT‼️

Urgent foster or adopter needed!
Boo & Skully are amazing kitties. These closely bonded sisters were adopted from us as kittens but are being returned as they can not coexist peacefully with the older original cat any longer. They are fine with the kitty-friendly family dog. These girls are very friendly, loving, and wonderful with the kids. The family is so upset to return them but the attacks on the older kitty has gotten severe. Due to this issue, the sweet girls are going to find themselves at a local animal control if we cannot find placement with a new foster or adopter immediately! We accept returns of our animals, but as a foster-based organization we can only do so if we have a home to place them. PLEASE, this situation is critical. APPLY TO FOSTER. We will provide all supplies!
