Another round of severe weather will affect our area today, (6/11) with the possibility of damaging winds, hail, tornadoes, and flash flooding. Please pay attention to news outlets, follow the National Weather Service, and have a NOAA weather radio.

When storm sirens stop, continue to shelter in place for 15 minutes before emerging. This is a best practice for any time the sirens sound.

We understand that power outages continue to impact portions of our community. ComEd crews are working to make repairs, and restore service as quickly and safely as possible. Residents are encouraged to report outages directly to ComEd if they have not already done so, as this helps crews prioritize and track restoration efforts (you can call 1-800-EDISON1, go to ComEd.com, or use the ComEd App to report their outages). Please remember to stay clear of any downed power lines and assume they are energized. Report downed lines immediately to 911.

If you should need a cooling center, the Recreation Center (900 W. Romeo Road) is available Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Saturday - Sunday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. If you require a cooling center after these hours, please contact the Romeoville Police Department at 815-886-7219.

If you have a medical need that requires electricity and your power is out, please call 815-886-7219. They will connect you with the fire department. If that need is at an emergency level, please call 911.

If you have fallen branches, please set them at the curb and our Public Works team will aim to collect them on your regular garbage day.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews address ongoing storm damage and prepare for today's storms.
