A warm and humid pattern will continue through Wednesday with peak heat indices of 100-105F expected. Periodic chances for showers and storms are expected through weeks end, but many dry hours are expected too. Make sure to keep tabs on the forecast this week particularly if you have outdoor plans.

Hot and humid conditions are expected for Tuesday and Wednesday, especially during the afternoon hours. Peak heat indices of 100-105F are expected both days with locally higher heat indices possible south of I-80. Make sure to stay hydrated and limit time outdoors if possible.

A warm and humid pattern is settling into the region for this week. The highest heat index values (greater than 100F) will be along and south of I-80, especially Tuesday and Wednesday. Occasional showers and storms will move through areas north of I-80, as well.

Scattered showers will be possible this evening then there will be a low chance of thunderstorms around daybreak Monday morning and mainly for areas north of Interstate 80. There will be another chance of thunderstorms Tuesday morning, again for areas north of Interstate 80 and if these storms materialize, they may be strong to locally severe. Hot and humid conditions are expected through midweek and then a cold front will be nearby with increasing thunderstorm chances for the end of the week.

Expect on and off periods of rain with occasional rumbles of thunder into the early to mid evening. The highest shower coverage (and a relatively higher chance for lightning) will focus north of I-80 (darker green shading on inset map).

If you hear thunder, go indoors or into a hard metal topped vehicle.
