Special: Township 250th Celebration

Over the weekend Station 48 handled 8 calls. We assisted Station 62 with a commerial building fire, fire alarm, and the rest were due to storm damage. As the week progresses with power still out all over the Township, please use caution at intersections with traffic lights not working- they are a 4 way stop!

This evening East Lampeter Township held a 250th celebration of the United States at Flory Park. This celebration also honored all of the volunteer fire companies, but especially those who have served 35+ years. Those members received a certificate and also a celebratory challenge coin. We congratulate our 7 members who have reached this milestone:

While this celebration was taking place, other members conducted in-house training consisting of air packs, hose advancement, and working with the SKID unit on Utility 1 as it is very dry out and we have already extinguished 1 field fire this summer.

We would like to congratulate the members of the 3 other Township companies who also have served 35+ years. It was nice to see the past experienced members again!

Celebrate America’s 250th! East Lampeter Township, Hand-in-Hand Fire Company, Lafayette Fire Company, Ronks Fire Company, and Witmer Fire Protective Association are partnering to invite the community to celebrate America’s 250th Anniversary on Monday, June 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Flory Park, 416 Dohner Dr, Lancaster (Use Greenland Dr entrance)! 🎆

The evening will include:
🚒 Fire apparatus parade
🚩 America 250 flag raising ceremony
👏 Recognition of firefighters with 35+ years of service
📜 Sign an enlarged replica of the Declaration of Independence
🌭 Complimentary hot dogs and bottles of water
🍦Ice cream from The Market at Oregon Dairy
🚒 Opportunity to explore the apparatus and meet local firefighters

This afternoon we assisted with 2 incidents.

At 14:25 Squad 48 was dispatched to assist at a barn/chicken house fire in West Lampeter.

While there, at 15:12 Rescue 48 was dispatched to assist Station 63 with a high angle rescue at Dutch Wonderland where multiple guests needed to be assisted off of the Skyview ride as it was unable to operate. The Rescue crew assisted with directing guests to the front of the park, helping Ladder 204 get set up, and then with other small jobs.
