Roosevelt Park Michigan

Roosevelt Park Michigan The City of Roosevelt Park is located in the southwestern portion of the County of Muskegon and encompasses an area of one square mile.

Roosevelt Park was declared an incorporated city on August 20, 1946. Today the City is a blend of residential and commercial development with some light industry. The City of Roosevelt Park prides itself as being a good neighbor to the border Cities of Muskegon and Norton Shores. Residents of Roosevelt Park find themselves living in "A Proud Community". Their pride is reflected in the condition of

their homes and property. As residents, they enjoy garbage and yard waste services and the many parks located within the City. Roosevelt Park has nine parks within its boundaries with each one being unique to its neighborhood. You may find tennis courts, playground equipment, a ball field or a gazebo. The City has a strong commitment to its residents and continues to offer various events throughout the year. During the summer months the City offers an Arts & Crafts program for children at the Community Center Park. A quarterly newsletter provides residents with the dates and times for each of these events. Each year on the fourth Saturday in August the City hosts Roosevelt Park Day. Roosevelt Park Day is a celebration of the City and offers food, arts & crafts, music, parade, rides and games, and other activities for all ages.

This week, weโ€™re recognizing and celebrating National Public Works Week!

From maintaining our streets and parks to snow removal, utilities, repairs, and so much more, our Department of Public Works helps keep Roosevelt Park running every single day.

Their hard work often happens behind the scenes, but the impact is seen throughout our entire community. Thank you to our DPW team for everything you do for Roosevelt Park! If you see one of our crew members out this week, be sure to give them a wave or say thank you for all they do for our community.

| During National Public Works Week, communities around North America will recognize and honor public works professionals with everything from touch-a-truck events, displays of public works equipment, name-a-snowplow contests, parades, open houses, community picnics, programs for civic organizations, media events, and social media campaigns. During National Police Week, we honor and remember Sergeant William Delmar of the Roosevelt Park Police Department, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

Sergeant Delmar passed away after sustaining injuries in a tragic patrol vehicle crash while serving and protecting his community. A proud U.S. Army veteran of WWII and recipient of the Bronze Star with cluster, he continued his life of service as a part-time police officer dedicated to helping others.

We remember his courage, dedication, and sacrifice. Our thoughts remain with his family, fellow officers, and all who knew and loved him.

May we never forget Sergeant William Delmar and all law enforcement officers who gave their lives in service. ๐Ÿ’™
