๐Ÿš’ Recently, the Rootstown Fire Department was awarded a grant through the Ohio Fire Marshalโ€™s Office for 35 new helmets, hoods, and pairs of gloves for our firefighters.

These items are critical in helping keep our members protected while serving our community. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Marshal Reardon and the staff at the Fire Marshalโ€™s Office for providing this grant opportunity and supporting departments across Ohio.

We are grateful for the continued investment in firefighter safety and the protection of our community. ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿฆ† B-Shift had an unexpected rescue today after a group of ducklings became trapped inside a storm drain.

Using patience, teamwork, and a little creativity, crews were able to safely remove the ducklings and reunite them with mom nearby.

Not every rescue involves lights and sirens โ€” sometimes itโ€™s the little things that make a big impact in our community. Great work by B-Shift today! ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘

Today, some of our firefighters had the opportunity to join Deerfield Fire Department along with several surrounding departments for a Water Movement Class hosted by the Ohio Fire Chiefsโ€™ Association.

This was a great hands-on learning experience for everyone involved. Crews were able to see firsthand what a rural water shuttle operation looks like, along with drafting water directly from a lake into a tanker. ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ’ง

Training like this is invaluable and helps departments work together more efficiently when large-scale incidents happen in our communities. Huge thank you to everyone involved for making it a successful day of learning and teamwork! ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿš’

๐Ÿš’ 2025 By the Numbers โ€” and the People Behind Them ๐Ÿš‘

In 2025, the members of the Rootstown Fire Department responded to 1,271 calls for service.

That number reflects countless hours of training, dedication, and teamwork โ€” and we are incredibly grateful for the continued support of our community. Your trust, encouragement, and backing make it possible for us to serve when you need us most.

At the same time, we recognize that every call represents a moment when someone was having one of their worst days. Behind each response is a neighbor, a family, or a loved one facing an emergency, crisis, or loss. While we are proud of the work we do, we never forget the human side of the numbers.

As we move forward, we remain committed to:
โ€ข Serving with professionalism and compassion
โ€ข Training to be ready for whatever comes next
โ€ข Supporting our community not just in emergencies, but every day

Thank you for standing with us โ€” in the good moments and the difficult ones. We are honored to serve Rootstown.

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
