The center will open for overnight guests when the forecast says the temperature will drop to 30 degrees or 32 degrees with precipitation.

🌡️ MONDAY NIGHT - 12/9/24 - ROSEBURG WARMING CENTER ACTIVE NOTICE 🌡️

The Roseburg Warming Center will be ACTIVATED on the evening of MONDAY, DECEMBER 9TH, with check-out on Tuesday morning, December 10, 2024. We invite our community to share this flyer to ensure those in need are informed.

OPERATING DETAILS:
🕒 Check-In & Meal:
Guests must arrive between 5:30 PM and 9:00 PM for check-in. A warm meal will be served during this time.
📌 On Tuesdays and Thursdays, St. Joseph's Community Kitchen provides meals from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM at St. Joseph's Gymnasium. UCAN will offer light snacks for guests who miss this opportunity.

🚪 Operating Hours:
The Warming Center will remain open to overnight guests from 9:00 PM to 6:30 AM. No entry or re-entry will be allowed after 9:00 PM.

☕ Check-Out & Light Breakfast/Coffee Hour:
Overnight guests may check out from 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM. Coffee, tea, and a light breakfast snack will be provided.

🏠 Daily Closure:
The Warming Center will close at 8:00 AM and will reopen for the next activation night.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

🛏️ Space Availability: Shelter space is first-come, first-serve.
🚍 Transportation: Accessible via UPTD Greenline and Redline, with the nearest bus stop on Harvard Avenue between Stanton and Stewart Parkway. Find schedules at Umpqua Transit Schedule.
🧳 Storage: Limited secure baggage storage is available. Guests may bring a small toiletry bag into the shelter.
🐾 Pet Policy: Pets are welcome but must be crated. A limited number of crates are provided. Guests are responsible for their pets’ behavior, care and potty breaks.
🚗 Parking: Parking is available in St. Joseph's lot outside the gymnasium. Sleeping in vehicles is not permitted.

The Warming Center is located at St. Joseph's Gymnasium (630 West Stanton St. Roseburg, OR).

The weather forecast has changed since we announced the nights we'd be open this week.The next 4 days will be warmer and don't meet the warming center criteria for opening. We won't be opening tonight, Monday 3/6, nor Tuesday, Wednesday.

20-year-old Mia Tulasi Dasa of Grants Pass

An officer from the Roseburg Police Department shot and killed a man at the Roseburg Senior Center after a stabbing incident.

The Board of Directors of Onward Roseburg and the Executive Director, Kimetha Stallings, would like to express our deepest sadness over the event in the early morning hours of February 28 at the warming center being held at the Roseburg Senior Center. Our hearts go out to the guests and volunteers who experienced the tragic event.
Anyone needing help to cope with this event can go to Adapt during regular business hours or call 800-866-9780 24 hours a day.
Anyone who wants to contribute to the investigation with a personal witness statement about the assault on warming center volunteers and guests can call 541-492-6813 to schedule an appointment.
The investigation into the officer involved shooting is being conducted by the Douglas County Major Crimes Team.
