Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation has selected NeighborWorks Umpqua for a grant of $10,000.00!
The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation (CCUIF) awarded 87 charities a total of $606,815 for its spring round of giving. The CCUIF Awards presentation occurred Tuesday, June 9, at the Seven Feathers Convention Center in Canyonville, Oregon.
"When I feel the weight of the world in my life, I think of the Cow Creek Foundation and recall its mission - giving to philanthropies that feed, educate, and strengthen our community,” Executive Director of the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation Carma Mornarich said. “I envision all the benefits that are achieved by giving to these basic needs and remember how the hard work of nonprofit organizations eases hard lives. It quiets me and I am once again aware of how much goodness there is in this world."
The mission of the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation is to offer assistance in education, strengthen youth and family, provide for positive youth development, and add to the quality of life for people in southwestern Oregon. Additionally, the Foundation has put increasing emphasis upon basic needs so more hungry people are fed. The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation giving is separate from other Cow Creek Umpqua Tribe giving.
Emily Warren Wylie, NeighborWorks Umpqua’s Director of Homeownership and Financial Access, attended the ceremony to accept the grant award from Ms. Mornarich. “On behalf of NeighborWorks Umpqua, thank you to the foundation for this grant,” Ms. Warren Wylie said.
“We appreciate your continued support of our mission, which is empowering our neighbors in need with opportunities in housing, community, and finance. We look forward to using these funds to improve our program delivery, provide matching funds, and increase the wealth and financial stability of Spanish-speaking participants, Tribal participants, and residents of NWU-owned properties. Thank you so much." 💚
