Douglas County Early Intervention Program

Douglas County Early Intervention Program We work with you to help your child develop the skills they need. ALL SERVICES AND EVALUATIONS ARE AT NO COST TO THE FAMILY.

If your child is between the age of 0 to 5 years old and you believe they may need help with communication, motor, life-skills and/or problem-solving skills - give us a call! Since every child is unique, an Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) is developed that may contain one or more of the following services. Family Consultation - our specialists work with families by teaching them to assist th

eir children in learning skills that will advance them developmentally. This service may be provided in the child's home and/or other location such as the daycare or the Early Intervention Program office based on individual family preference. Community Consultation - some children participate in a community preschool or daycare program to assist them in developing skills. A specialist can assist the family in identifying an appropriate program for their child and work with the staff in developing and implementing a program for the child. Therapy Services - a child who has significant delay in the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills and/or speech-language skills may receive individual therapy from the appropriate therapist. Classroom Services - families may choose to participate in Baby and Toddler groups for children under three years of age. For children three to five years of age, the program offers structured preschool classes and programs for speech and language development.
