Today's kids grab-and-go craft is a bird feeder with supplies provided.

Craft kits are available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 10 a.m. every Tuesday through August 18. Tuesday hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Children do not have to be present to take a kit, and a Roseburg Public Library card is not required. If you're wondering whether there are kits remaining, call the library at 541-492-7050.

Stop by the Friends Book Store during library hours to pick up cheap books. There even is a cart of free mass market paperbacks. Proceeds benefit library projects and programs.

The Friends accept donations of clean, gently used books, audiobooks on CD, and DVDs during open library hours. Drop off donations at the front desk.

The library's Author Discussion Group next will discuss the work of Yiyun Li, who most recently was awarded the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Memoir or Autobiography for "Things in Nature Merely Grow." Li, who serves as Director of the Creative Writing Program at Princeton University, also has written a number of award-winning novels.

Discussion group participants are invited to read anything by or about Li and be prepared to discuss their reading experience on a fall date to be determined. Email Kris at kwiley at roseburgor.gov for information, including the Zoom link.
