🔥🍔 GRILLING SEASON IS HERE! 🍔🔥

A friendly reminder from the Lyford Fire Department:

➡️ Keep your grill at least 3 feet away from your house, deck, railing, or anything that can burn.

Every summer, preventable grill fires damage homes and put families at risk. A little extra space can make a BIG difference.

✅ Grill outside only
✅ Never leave it unattended
✅ Keep kids and pets away
✅ Check propane connections before lighting

Stay safe, enjoy the cookouts, and please… don’t turn your house into the main course this summer! 🚒

Engine 10 on scene at a recent MVA.

Recently, the Lyford Fire Department’s main engine had to be sent out for repairs. The Lyford Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to the Clinton City Fire Department for the use of their spare fire engine during this time. Thank you Chief Chris Strohm for coordinating this effort.

It’s a great example of how fire departments come together to help one another in times of need. Cooperation like this help ensure our communities continue to receive the emergency services they depend on. Thank you again to the City of Clinton Fire Department for your support and partnership

🔥🧯 **Fire Extinguisher Friday** 🧯🔥

Do you know how to properly use a fire extinguisher in an emergency? Remember the word **PASS**:

✅ **P** – Pull the pin
✅ **A** – Aim at the base of the fire
✅ **S** – Squeeze the handle
✅ **S** – Sweep side to side

🚨 Only attempt to fight a small fire if:
• The fire is contained
• You have a clear exit behind you
• The extinguisher is the correct type
• You feel safe doing so

🏠 Check your home extinguishers regularly:
✔️ Make sure the gauge is in the green
✔️ Keep them easy to access
✔️ Replace or service expired extinguishers

A few seconds of preparation can make a big difference in an emergency.
