Press release regarding the possible plane crash!
At approximately 12:41 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, the Lyford Fire Department was dispatched to the 10000 block of South U.S. 41 for a report of a possible small aircraft crash.

The Lyford Fire Department responded along with the Parke County Sheriff's Office, Parke County EMS, mutual aid departments from Rosedale, Rockville, and Otter Creek, as well as several other law enforcement agencies. An outstanding job was done by the Parke County Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center in coordinating communications and resources throughout the incident.

After an extensive investigation, it was determined that the reported aircraft was a crop-dusting plane operating in the area and that no crash had occurred.

All responding agencies were clear of the scene by 1:15 p.m.

The Lyford Fire Department would like to thank all responding agencies for their quick response, professionalism, and cooperation in ensuring the safety of our community.

The Lyford Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended our July Jonah Fish Fry. Your continued support means so much to our department and helps us continue serving our community.

We would also like to recognize and thank **G&H Disposal** for generously donating the dumpster for the event, and **Lyford Bible Baptist Church** for their wonderful donation of desserts.

During the fish fry, our department was dispatched to a working garage fire. While our firefighters responded to protect our community, we were humbled by the number of volunteers, family members, and community supporters who stepped up to ensure the fish fry continued without missing a beat. Your willingness to help allowed us to fulfill our commitment to both the emergency response and our guests.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and supported this year's July Jonah Fish Fry. We are truly grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community.

We hope to see everyone at our next Jonah Fish Fry on **Saturday, September 19th**! Mark your calendars and come enjoy another great meal while supporting your local fire department.

Yesterday, the Lyford Fire Department was proud to participate in the Parke County Fair. It was a great evening spent with our community, and we truly enjoyed seeing everyone who stopped by to visit.
