Fix Bayonets! 🗡️⚓️🇺🇸

Our Color Parade was the finest ex*****on of the year…sharp, disciplined, and precise. The Brigade delivered…Proud! 👊🇺🇸⚓️

For the Class of 2026, this was more than a parade on Worden Field. It was your final formal pass in review as Midshipmen…a milestone marking how far you have come and how ready you are to lead as Ensigns & 2nd Lts.

An honor to welcome my NAPS ’87 and USNA ’91 classmate, LtGen “Bobbi” Shea, Commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces Command & Marine Corps Forces North, back to Worden Field as today’s reviewing officer. Seeing a fellow member of the Class of ’91 return 35 years later to review the Brigade was a powerful reminder that the bonds forged here last a lifetime. 🫡🦅⚓️

Congratulations to 11th Company and 14th Company for earning Color Company honors, and bravo to the entire Brigade for an outstanding performance. Special recognition to 13th Company for proudly flying our new Physical Fitness streamer…earned through grit, toughness, and relentless competition!

And….Final parade plunge in Radford Terrace Fountain is back…traditions matter at USNA! ⛲️🇺🇸⚓️

On Thursday, Blake Horvath of the football team won the NAAA Sword for Men while Ava Toppin from the volleyball team claimed the Vice Admiral Lawrence Sword for Women.

The Swords are presented to the man and woman who are considered by the Association’s Athletic Council to have personally excelled in athletics during their years of varsity competition.

Congratulations Class of 2026! You were forged on the Yard for this exact moment in history. ⚓️🦅🇺🇸

“Your people do not need a manager. They need a Commander who can stand in the uncertainty of combat, in the chaos of a casualty, or in the teeth of a storm, and say with absolute confidence: “Follow me!”
And when fear creeps in, it will be your voice, your tactical competence, and your refusal to yield that carries them through.”🫡🇺🇸

Thank you to General “Razin” Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, for delivering an outstanding commencement address that challenged and inspired our Midshipmen. Thank you also to Acting Secretary of the Navy, Honorable Cao, Admiral Caudle, Chief of Naval Operations, and General Smith, Commandant of the Marine Corps, for your leadership and words of wisdom as these newest officers take on the sacred charge of…Protector.

Marine Corps and Navy Air Power dominated the skies of Annapolis today. ⚓️🦅🇺🇸

For the first time, a Marine F-35B 5th Generation Fighter flew alongside our precision Blue Angels team above the Naval Academy. An incredible display of precision, advanced training, discipline, and teamwork.

These are the very qualities forged here every day at the United States Naval Academy as we develop our Nation’s future leaders. The majority of the pilots who flew today are proud USNA grads and started their journey on the dirt they now fly above. Moto! 🔱🐐

Proud to have Acting SecNav and Four Superintendents on deck alongside many of our Naval Academy family.

Class of 2028 crushed Severn Shellback. 👊⚓️

Modeled after the Navy’s equator-crossing “Shellback” ceremony, the evolution focused on the symbolic undertaking of responsibility and their transition from youngster to second class midshipman. They now assume the charge of standard bearers of our Brigade. ⚔️🦅

They heard from leaders around the yard, both in uniform and out, officers and enlisted alike, and parents of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Second Class, you are now upperclassmen, as you uphold our standards, Lead well. You are ready!

Herndon conquered. Plebes NO MORE!! 🫡🇺🇸

In 2 hours, 17 minutes, and 36 seconds, the Class of 2029 climbed Herndon Monument and completed one of the Naval Academy’s most demanding and historic traditions. ⚓️

Covered in grease, exhausted, and tested at every level, they kept up the attack as a team. 💪

This moment signifies teamwork, resilience, and refusing to quit when the task feels impossible. Plebe year challenged them. Today, they answered. 🫡

Class of 2029 are Plebes no more! CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Commissioning Week is here! ⚓️🇺🇸

Gitte and I, along with our entire Naval Academy family, welcome the families and friends of the Class of 2026, and thank you for joining us as we celebrate 4 years of grit, growth, sacrifice, and service on the journey to becoming Navy and Marine Corps officers. 🦅⚓️

Behind every Midshipman is a family who believed in them long before they ever raised their right hand on Induction Day. You carried them through the challenges, encouraged them through the setbacks, celebrated the victories, and helped shape the character and mental toughness that defines this extraordinary class.

This week is more than a graduation. It is the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, leadership, and commitment to something greater than self. It is a celebration of young men and women who answered the call to serve our nation with honor, courage, and commitment. ⚓️🇺🇸

As we gather for the final week of their journey at the United States Naval Academy, we hope you take time to reflect on every step that brought you here, from Plebe Summer to Herndon, from late-night study sessions to military training, from victories on the athletic fields to moments of personal growth.

Thank you for trusting us with your sons and daughters. It has been an honor to watch them grow into leaders of character ready to lead Sailors and Marines around the globe.

Welcome to Commissioning Week 2026.
Welcome to the Navy and Marine Corps family. Our Nation is in great hands.

To all of our incredible Naval Academy Moms, Happy Mother’s Day and Thank You! 💐⚓️

The strength we see in our Midshipmen did not begin at the Naval Academy. It began at home with moms who taught resilience, discipline, humility, toughness, character, and love of country. 🇺🇸⚓️

Every early morning practice. Every hard conversation. Every sacrifice. Every countless “Mom Uber” drive. Every prayer. Every moment you encouraged them to keep going when life got hard…it mattered.

On behalf of the entire Naval Academy family, thank you for raising extraordinary young men and women willing to serve something greater than themselves. We are proud of them and….deeply, deeply Grateful for you. 🫡❤️💐

And personally, I thank my own Mom, who loved the Naval Academy and is surely looking down today with a giant smile. And to my strong and amazing wife, Gitte , thank you for being an extraordinary Mom to our two American Vikings. 🇺🇸🇩🇰⚔️

Today, we celebrate the Moms behind the Mission.
