Councilman Khanjan Patel

Councilman Khanjan Patel Welcome! Fourth Ward Councilman Khanjan Patel for Roselle Park. I like to share a little bit about myself. We are at a crossroads in Roselle Park.

My father, mother, sister, and I moved to Roselle Park from India when I was 12 years old. As a Roselle Park High school student, I was involved with clubs and sports as I played varsity tennis and was a captain of the team, and was part of the junior varsity soccer team. The highlight of my education in Roselle Park was as a student in our STEM program. As a robotics team member, we won many awar

ds and were given a chance to compete in the nationals in Florida. At Kean University, I was accepted into the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) in 2017. In May 2022, I recently graduated from the program and received a Master's Degree in Computational Science and Engineering with two minors in Physics and Cybersecurity. As a member of the growing Indian community of Roselle Park, I'm fluent in three languages: Hindi, Gujarati, and English. When people ask me why I want to run for office, I say “Why Not?” As a young boy, I watched my father volunteer for many candidates in India. He also inspired me to get involved in our community and run for office. I watched him and his friends help Mayor Joe DeIorio with outreach to the Indian community. Now I want to be the next generation of leaders for Roselle Park and I believe running as a councilman would inspire other young leaders to be involved. We need representatives and leaders with integrity who truly care for the people, giving you a voice on our borough council. I respectfully ask for your support in this November's election.
