Christmas in July is making a splash tomorrow at Kemmerling Pool!🎄🎅🏼

Join us Friday, July 24, from 2:00–4:00pm as we bring holiday cheer to the pool with a festive afternoon of summer fun. Snap a photo with Santa as he takes a vacation poolside, enjoy holiday music, cool off with frozen "hot chocolate" popsicles, and soak up the Christmas spirit in the sunshine!

‼️Community Notice, Goose Lake Park‼️

Early this morning, the Roselle Park District was notified of a fire involving a portable restroom and its enclosure at Goose Lake Park near the baseball fields. The incident occurred sometime between 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

The Roselle Police Department is investigating this incident. If you are a homeowner in the area and have security camera footage from that time frame, we ask that you please contact the Roselle Police Department. Any information, no matter how small, may assist with the investigation.

If you witness any suspicious activity in our parks, please call 911 immediately. Prompt reporting helps law enforcement respond quickly and keeps our parks safe for everyone.

Acts of vandalism like this impact the entire community. They damage public property, divert taxpayer resources away from park improvements and programs, and affect the experience of everyone who enjoys our parks.

The safety of our parks and the people who use them will always be our highest priority. We appreciate the community's partnership in helping us protect these shared spaces.

❗️Goose Lake Park Updates❗️

As part of the Roselle Park District's voter-approved referendum improvements, we are excited to share the significant progress that has been made at Goose Lake Park over the past two years and what you can look forward to still, starting THIS WEEK with the replacement of our paths.

🚧 Beginning This Week 🚧
Construction will begin this week on the replacement of the park pathway. This is the final referendum-funded path improvement project and will provide a safer, smoother, and more accessible walking surface for park visitors.

The project is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting. During construction, we ask that visitors avoid the work area for their safety and the crews.

🌱What's Still to Come🌱
Our work at Goose Lake Park is not finished. Additional improvements and ecological restoration efforts are planned, including:

- Installation of new benches and permanent trash receptacles in August to provide additional comfort and convenience for park visitors. (Near Bryn Mawr/Fishing areas)

- Targeted herbicide applications this week (weather permitting) to continue managing invasive plant species.

- A prescribed controlled burn in Spring 2027 to remove overgrown vegetation, encourage healthy native plant growth, and support the long-term restoration of the natural areas.

🌾Completed Improvements🌾

- Extensive tree planting to replace trees lost over the years and enhance the park's long-term canopy.

- Shoreline restoration to improve water quality, reduce erosion, and strengthen the health of the pond ecosystem.

- Removal of invasive vegetation to allow native plants to thrive and restore the area's natural habitat.

- Installation of a new fence along Bryn Mawr Avenue to improve safety and better define the park boundary.

- Native plantings throughout the naturalized areas that will provide seasonal color, improve wildlife habitat, and create a more sustainable landscape.

These improvements are part of a comprehensive plan to restore and preserve Goose Lake Park while creating a healthier, more sustainable environment for future generations. We appreciate your patience as we complete these final enhancements and thank the community for its continued support of the referendum projects.

❕Dive Well Closure Notice❕

The Dive Well will remain closed through the weekend due to a mechanical issue with one of our pumps.

The pump has been removed and is currently being repaired. We are hopeful the repairs will be completed, and the Dive Well will reopen early next week.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this issue. We will provide an update as soon as the repair is complete and the Dive Well is ready to reopen!
