Cool as a cucumber! Students across the district got a taste of fresh, locally grown cucumbers while discovering the nutritional benefits behind this crisp and refreshing treat. From farm to tray, it’s all about learning, growing, and making healthy choices!

Taylor Ray Elementary School rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on with our hydroponic garden—harvesting fresh, crisp lettuce they grew themselves! 🌱 Throughout April students explored the full growth cycle from seed to harvest while learning about hydroponic gardening, the powerful health benefits of eating fresh fruits and vegetables, different harvesting techniques, and the science behind growing food in innovative ways.

The best part? Students will enjoy their freshly harvested lettuce right in the cafeteria—there’s nothing like tasting success straight from the garden! 🥗 Opportunities like this encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyles, learn the origins of their food, and gain a greater appreciation for fresh, wholesome ingredients.

Today was a great day in our high school cafeterias! 🎉B.F. Terry Ranger Pride

We proudly served up two amazing lines — our Fiesta Line and our Original Line — both set up for success and full of delicious options for our students. 🌮🍽️

Our Fiesta Line was a huge hit! Did you know you can build 23 different entrées just from that line alone? From burritos to nachos and everything in between, students had the freedom to mix, match, and create meals they truly enjoy.

We love seeing our students excited about their meals and having options that keep things fresh, fun, and flavorful every day! 💛

The hydroponic garden has arrived at Taylor Ray Elementary School ! Our germinated seeds have sprouted and transplanted into the Flex Farm. Throughout April, students will have the opportunity to observe the full growth cycle—from seed to harvest—while learning about hydroponic gardening, the benefits of a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, and different harvesting techniques.

At the end of the month, students will harvest their lettuce and enjoy the fruits of their labor right in the cafeteria. Roll up your sleeves, Ray Rockets, and get ready for some hands-on gardening fun! 🌱🥬

Yesterday students across the district enjoyed the crisp, sweet taste of locally grown gold beets while learning about their nutritional benefits and the positive impact of supporting local farms through our Farm to School program!
