The Fort Bend County Animal Services Shelter has a number of dog, cats, puppies and kittens that need a good home. The majority of these animals have been abandoned by the owners on the side of the road, in fields or even a ditch.

Unlike the beds that we've been using that wear out and need to be replaced, these durable beds can handle years of daily use. 🚨 URGENT: ADOPTER OR RESCUE NEEDED TO HELP GOOBER BY 2PM TOMORROW!!!

Meet Goober (A054523).

Goober was found lying injured in a ditch, wearing a collar, but so far no one has come forward to claim him. 💔

We believe he may have been hit by a car. He has painful abrasions on his left paws, severe swelling around his testicles, and he's extremely thin and weak.

Unfortunately, Goober doesn't want to be touched or handled at the moment. He's behaving aggressively whenever someone tries. Right now, he spends most of his time lying quietly on the soft blankets in his kennel, trying to rest. Right now, he's receiving pain medication, but he needs medical care beyond what our shelter can provide.

He urgently needs a rescue organization or an adopter that can provide the medical care and resources he needs. But he needs to find someone by 2PM tomorrow (8/8/26)!

If you recognize Goober and know where he belongs, please contact us immediately. His collar makes us hopeful that someone is missing him.

⭐Moxie - A053320⭐

Moxie's name fits her perfectly! She's independent enough to do her own thing, and that's part of her charm! She likes to take in every sight and smell along the way.

She came to us wearing an “Emotional Support Animal” collar, so we know she had an owner at some point, but sadly no one ever came looking for her, and she's been with us for over 3 months now. She’s ready to start her next chapter in her forever home.

This smart girl already knows how to sit on command and has a calm, easygoing side. She'll patiently stand still while you dress her up in a cute bandana and happily accepts a few moments of affection, especially if you're handing out her favorite butt scratches! She also walks well on a leash.

Moxie isn't the type to demand constant attention - in fact, she'll often wander off after she's had enough pets - but she's happy to check back in for a little love now and then. She has a low to medium energy level and enjoys having room to explore without feeling the need to be entertained every second.

Moxie has also done well with other dogs in our shelter playgroups. She enjoys trying to get them to play, but she's polite and knows when to back off if another dog isn't interested.

If you're looking for a confident, observant companion who appreciates both her independence and the occasional scratch behind the ears (or better yet, on her backside), Moxie could be the perfect match for you.

Lionel is already settling into his short-term foster home like a pro! This 5-month-old Doberman puppy is eager to prove just how much of a good boy he can be. He's already mastering his basic commands like sit and stay and is a champ at potty training. He's already a gentleman on leash and he's done well meeting kids of all ages as well as other pups! He's the perfect boy, ready for his perfect home.
