Since 2011, he has devoted his time in office to serving the citizens of the county he calls home. In November 2016, he was elected to Fort Bend County Commissioner’s Court for Precinct 1, and reelected in November 2020 for a second term. Prior to serving as Commissioner, Morales was the co-owner and operator of GreenScape Associates, LLC, a landscape management, design and build firm serving resi

dential and commercial clients. As a business owner, Vincent is well versed in running an organization effectively and efficiently. As an entrepreneur he knows intimately well the value of hard work, optimism and perseverance. An active member of the community, Morales has been involved in several organizations including the Central Fort Bend Chamber, the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (LEAF) and the Rosenberg Railroad Museum. Morales served as a board member of Child Advocates, the Rosenberg Development Corporation and the I-69 Alliance, as well as on the advisory board of OakBend Medical Center. He also has served as a director on the West Fort Bend Management District. Vincent previously served on the Texas Juvenile Justice Department Board of Directors, as a Governor Abbott appointee. Morales is married to Fort Bend County native Regina Klingle Morales, President of GreenScape Associates, LLC. They have two children, The Honorable Christopher G. Morales, County Court at Law 1 Judge, and Justin Morales, Vice President of GreenScape Associates, LLC, and two daughter-in-law’s, Vanessa and Brooke Morales. They, along with their three grandchildren, Madelyn, William and Parker Morales, all live in Fort Bend. Morales is committed to continuing his public service in his role as Commissioner, Precinct 1 with a focus on improving the quality of life for all Fort Bend County residents.

Tropical Depression Five has strengthened and is now Tropical Storm Edouard over the Gulf.

As of the 7 p.m. advisory, Edouard has maximum sustained winds of 40 mph and is moving west-northwest at 6 mph. The current forecast brings the system toward the Upper Texas Coast on Tuesday, with weakening expected as it moves inland.

For Fort Bend County, heavy rainfall remains our primary concern. While we have certainly needed the rain, tropical moisture can produce significant rainfall in a short amount of time, increasing the potential for street flooding, flash flooding and rises along area streams and rivers.

⚠️ A few important reminders:

* The forecast cone shows the probable path of the center of Edouard — impacts can occur well outside the cone.
* Fort Bend County is not currently under a Tropical Storm Warning.
* Conditions and rainfall forecasts can change as the system approaches the coast.
* Never drive through a flooded roadway — Turn Around, Don’t Drown.

The Fort Bend County Emergency Operations Center will continue to closely monitor Tropical Storm Edouard and coordinate with the National Weather Service and our local partners as we head into Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fort Bend County has issued an outdoor burn ban for all unincorporated areas of the county, effective today, August 27, at 5 p.m.

Extreme heat, worsening drought conditions, and limited rainfall have significantly increased the risk of wildfires. As of today, Fort Bend County’s Keetch-Byram Drought Index (KBDI) is 634 on a scale of 0–800, indicating significantly dry conditions and an increased potential for fire activity.

🚫 While the burn ban is in effect, outdoor burning is prohibited in unincorporated Fort Bend County. This includes:
• Burning trash or debris
• Campfires
• Burn barrels
• Other open-flame burning that is not fully contained as required by the County’s order

🔥 Please do your part to prevent wildfires. Even a small spark can quickly become dangerous under these dry conditions. Use extra caution with anything that could ignite dry grass or vegetation, including discarded ci******es, hot equipment, welding, and vehicles parked over dry grass.

The Fort Bend County Fire Marshal’s Office will continue monitoring drought and weather conditions. The burn ban may be rescinded when conditions improve.
