! FBI agents with the FBI Sacramento Field Office returned fugitive Sancho Kibutu from Nairobi, Kenya, to Madera County, California, this evening. Kibutu was convicted of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated by a Madera County jury on April 13, 2013, but fled to Kenya prior to sentencing.

According to court records, Kibutu’s vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic on Golden State Boulevard and collided head-on with a vehicle carrying four individuals on August 13, 2011. Kibutu, who was intoxicated, sustained minor injuries. A passenger in the other vehicle was killed, and three others were seriously injured.

Kibutu was arrested in Nairobi on September 9, 2026, through collaboration between U.S. and Kenyan authorities and returned to the United States.

Posing as legitimate remote employees, they use stolen identities and a network of facilitators—including U.S. citizens—to secure jobs, collect salaries, and funnel funds back to North Korea.

A man who is permanently banned from possessing weapons is charged with making interstate threats, making threats involving explosives, and possessing am******on as a prohibited person.

According to court documents, he posted multiple violent threats online, including threats directed at a local church and community members. During the investigation, officers found am******on, fi****ms, and materials commonly used to make explosives inside his residence. In a separate 2019 incident, he told others he was driving with an explosive device and claimed he had previously built one. Officers later found additional materials and equipment consistent with manufacturing homemade explosives.

A man, Thomas Henry Lopez, was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for exploiting minors in California. Lopez pleaded guilty to two counts of s*xual exploitation and one count of distribution of child s*xual abuse material on July 13, 2026, following an investigation by the and Central California Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Between June and July 2024, he contacted victims through social media while posing as a child and coerced them into sending illicit content. Investigators traced the activity to his home and workplace, leading to his arrest in September 2024. In addition to prison time, he will serve a lifetime of supervised release with strict internet restrictions and must pay $24,400 in assessments.

An man, Kenyin McGee, has pleaded guilty to s*x trafficking of a minor following an investigation by the with assistance from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

According to court documents, McGee met the victim in 2021 through Instagram. After months of communication, he purchased a bus ticket for the minor to travel to meet him. Upon her arrival, McGee picked her up from the bus station, bought her clothing, and took her to a hotel. He then posted photos of the victim on a website known for facilitating commercial s*x.

McGee drove the victim to areas in Oakland and San Francisco known for commercial s*x activity and instructed her to solicit buyers from passing cars. As a result of his actions, the minor was exploited by multiple individuals.

🚨Case update! resident, Ruby Celly Uribe, was sentenced to more than two years in federal prison for unlawfully possession of a machine gun and possession of an unregistered short-barreled r***e.

Uribe, a California National Guard member on the Counterdrug Task Force, leaked details of planned drug raids to a known dealer. Agents later found a fully automatic, short-barreled ghost gun in her home and evidence she trafficked other illegal fi****ms, including one sold to a co worker in July 2022. During trial prep, the FBI also recovered another illegal machine gun she sold in August 2022. She was convicted by a federal jury on May 26, 2026.

🚨Case update! Stephan James Evanovich, of , was sentenced today to more than six years in federal prison for a conspiracy to transport stolen rectifiers, a power source, from communications towers. He is the third and final co-conspirator to be sentenced.

According to court documents, Evanovich led a multistate conspiracy that endangered cellular communications, including potentially disrupting 911 services. Evanovich’s co-conspirators entered communications towers to steal rectifiers from other communications equipment, which he then sold to unwitting third-party vendors in California, Illinois, Colorado, and Texas.

🚨Case update!

An man was convicted by a federal jury of one count of wire fraud. According to court documents and evidence presented at trial, he applied for a $1 million Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL), a program administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration to help businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, in January 2022. In his application, the man falsely certified that he would use the money solely for business purposes. Instead, he gambled more than $442,000 at casinos and paid $100,000 as an unauthorized kickback to a person who assisted with the application. By the time he applied for the $1 million EIDL loan, he had already applied for, received, and gambled tens of thousands of dollars of COVID-era business loans, including Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and an earlier $150,000 EIDL loan.
