Get to know our new IVC Volunteer Coordinator: Sheila McCann!
Sheila started at IVC in September of this year as our new Volunteer Coordinator! Some of her responsibilities in her role include recruiting, training, and supporting new/existing IVC volunteers; providing some extra support with client intake/client services; and participating in community outreach events. Sheila comes to us with 12 years of experience serving seniors in our community as a Volunteer Coordinator with organizations such as Senior Companion Program and Heartland Hospice. Sheila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Gerontology from Baker College, and through her internship opportunities, was able to work with Macomb County Senior Services and Area Agency on Aging 1-B. Outside of work, Sheila loves spending time with her family, friends, and her fur baby Bentley!
Sheila says: “It has been a joy working at IVC. My co-workers are terrific, and they really make it a wonderful place to work. Their efforts to carry out our mission at IVC is inspiring.”
Join us in welcoming Sheila to our team! We are so happy to have you and we are excited to see all the wonderful things you do for IVC!
Come stop in and say hello to Stacey from IVC next Wednesday, November 9th from 9am to 3pm at the Macomb Family YMCA health fair! This event is open to all members of the community!
