Congratulations are in order for our newest group of Paramedic Instructor Coordinators! Dakota Junkin, Brandon Weidner and Timothy VanVechten recently graduated instructor school. In coordination with the training division, they help keep your Roseville Firefighters continuously certified and up to date on the latest advancements in Emergency Medicine. This helps keep up the excellent standard of care that Local 1614 strives to achieve each and every day!

Local 1614 would like to congratulate Captain Robert Woonton on his retirement earlier this summer! Captain Woonton served the residents of Roseville for over 26 years! Congratulations Bob on your retirement!

Your Roseville Firefighters will once again be selling breast cancer shirts!! These shirts will be available at Roseville City Hall in the Clerk's Office. They are $15 each, cash only. They will be available Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. Hurry up and grab yours before they sell out!

RFDโs Engine 1 had the chance to work with our brothers and sisters of MCSD this afternoon in yet another duckling rescue! 9 babies rescued safe & sound and returned to mama! ๐ฆ๐

4 ducklings were rescued from a storm drain and happily reunited with a very worried mama duck! ๐ฆ๐ค
The Roseville Fire Department has been experiencing some exciting changes lately. Firstly, we would like to congratulate Battalion Chief Todd Adams on his retirement. Todd recently retired from the department after serving the residents of Roseville for 30 years. He spent the last eight and a half years of his career as a Battalion Chief. Todd is well known not only for his commitment and dedication to the residents and the city but also for his commitment to his family and crew. Todd has always prided himself on putting his crew and their families over himself. Congratulations Todd on your well deserved retirement.
Secondly, we would like to congratulate Battalion Chief Jon Tovarez, Captain Gerald Kempf, Lieutenant Joel Higuchi, and Sergeant Marc Hammell on their recent promotions. We know you will all do a great job in your new roles.
Last but not least we would like to congratulate Firefighter Paramedic Carly Landry on passing her 1-year probationary period and receiving her badge. New firefighters have a 1-year probationary period where they are trained to the highest standards and evaluated on their performance throughout the year. Carly exceeded all expectations and we are proud to work alongside her.
Local 1614 would like to congratulate Scott Bala on being elected 6th District Vice President of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union. Scott has served the residents of the City of Roseville for almost 30 years. During that time, Scott rose through the ranks of our local union serving 27 years, 18 as President. Scott is a strong union leader and will now continue to lead at the state level. We are proud of Scott and wish him luck on his new journey as 6th District Vice President.
We would also like to congratulate Matt Sahr on being elected President of the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union. Matt has served in various roles throughout his years as a union firefighter. Matt has been working for us at the state level as 6th District Vice President of the Michigan Professional Firefighters union for the past eight years. Congratulations to Matt and Scott. We know you'll both represent us well.
