National Police Week is upon us this week. It is a time for police officers to honor their fallen colleagues, make sure those surviving them are supported, and to remember their commitment to keeping people safe. We would like pay homage to our fallen officers who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our community. They are honored with a plaque which is displayed in front of our station. All of our police cars also have four stars on them. Each star represents one of our fallen officers and it serves as a daily reminder of the sacrifice paid on their last tour of duty. To all of the men and women who nobly wear the badge and put their lives at risk to protect people each and every day.... Thank you 💙💙💙💙

What a busy weekend... Last Friday, our department was invited to attend the 4th annual Vendor Show and Taste Fest. The event was created for commercial and craft vendors to display their amazing products and for local restaurants to sharer their delicious food. We met so many wonderful people and the night was truly a great experience! Honey Baked Ham did something extra special too. They collected almost $400.00 in donations, and in turn, donated the money to our department!! Thank you for such a wonderful gift and we are extremely grateful.

On Saturday, we assisted with another great event, the "Joe Manfreda Dream Dash". The weather was beautiful and the run was a huge success!! Thank you to all who participated. 🥇🏆

Lastly, a belated Happy Mother's Day!! Thank you Moms for all that you do. ❤️❤️

Some of you may have seen on the news recently, Anthony Pate, of St. Clair Shores, has been volunteering his time to help the people of Ukraine by bringing donated items such as clothing and medical supplies to aid in their efforts. He also is accepting donated military supplies. The Roseville Police Department heard about Anthony’s humanitarian aid efforts and felt it a worthy cause to get involved in. Yesterday, we met Anthony at his house and donated 18 “bullet resistant” vests that he will be taking to Ukraine this week. He said Ukrainian military personnel will literally be wearing these vests by next Wednesday or Thursday. All of the donated vests are expired, as they have a five-year expiration date, but all are still in good condition. Typically, these vests would be sent out for destruction, but now they will continue to protect the people of Ukraine, as they protected our Officers here in Roseville.

Donations are being collected by Anthony on Venmo -Pate-12 and Apple Pay at 517-402-3658. Donations can also be dropped off at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 6601 Ryan Rd. Warren.

03/31/2022

April is Autism Awareness Month and it aims to celebrate and promote acceptance for the condition that occurs in approximately 1 in 44 children as of 2021 in the U.S., per the CDC. Autism, a complex developmental condition affecting a person's ability to interact, communicate, and progress, has not one but many subtypes. First held in 1972, Autism Awareness Month emphasizes the need for public awareness to promote acceptance, celebrate the differences, and be more inclusive towards autistic individuals around us.

Our department is doing our part by offering autism awareness stickers to promote awareness throughout our community. The stickers are free to residents of Roseville and $3.00 for non-residents. They can be picked up at our police lobby between the hours of 8am - 11pm. (Cash only please for non-residents).

03/30/2022

Our department recognizes how important it is to show gratitude and appreciation towards our Officers as they keep our community safe throughout the year. That is why we are implementing a new award... Quarterly Officer of the Year. Each quarter, we will nominate and select a most outstanding Officer who has exhibited hard work and efforts which have improved this department and our city. The selected Officer will be honored with their name and picture being displayed on a plaque in our lobby.

This quarter, we are happy to announce Officer Witan has been selected as the most outstanding Officer! Officer Witan has been with our department since 2015 and was selected for his exceptional actions at a recent major incident scene, and for his mentoring of other younger Officers on his shift.

Congratulations and thank you Officer Witan for your dedication and professionalism.

Thank you, thank you to the fine young hero’s of tomorrow at St. John Lutheran Preschool. These little superstars took the time to make care packages (filled with bottled water, snacks and notebooks for diligent note taking while catching bag guys) for all of our Officers. Teacher Kelly Monroe, hand delivered them to our department and we graciously accepted the gifts. We must have gotten a little “Luck of the Irish” today to be bestowed with such generosity. Happy St. Patrick’s Day Everyone!!🍀🍀

What an awesome night!! The Roseville Police Department adopted several children for Christmas and yesterday delivered presents to some very happy children. We were excited to have Santa with us as well. What an amazing and rewarding night. The Roseville Police Department, in conjunction with Walmart, was able to host Shop With a Cop and allow 21 children to shop for presents. We had representatives from the Military, the Roseville Fire Department, our Police Reserve Units and the Detroit School District Police. We cannot thank Walmart enough for making this a huge success. The children even received a visit from Santa Claus who arrived on his "modified" sleigh.

Wow!!!! What a turnout last night at Santa’s Drive-Thru Spectacular!! We hope a good time was had by all, as we had a blast seeing all of the families who attended, and of course, hanging out with the big guy himself, Santa Claus! Santa received all of the children’s letters written to him and he told us that was heading straight back to the North Pole to start making toys!! Chief Monroe and Deputy Chief Berlin did have a conversation with Santa reminding him to buckle up his sleigh belt and to drive safely on his way back home, and throughout the holiday season. Santa assured both that he will keep Rudolph under the sleigh speed limit. Thank you to all who came out and made Santa’s Drive-Thru a night to remember!!
