We would like to give a huge THANK YOU to our local dispatchers. You are all awesome and do one heck of a great job.
National Public Safety Telecommunicator Week is a time to recognize the calm voices behind the chaos, the professionals who answer the call when everything else feels like it’s falling apart. Observed each year in April, National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week honors the dispatchers who serve as the critical first link in emergency response.
They are the unseen heroes guiding frantic callers through CPR, sending help in seconds, coordinating law enforcement, fire, and EMS, all the while holding steady in moments where every second matters. While first responders are often visible on the front lines, telecommunicators are the steady heartbeat behind the scenes, ensuring those responders get where they’re needed quickly and kept informed throughout.
This week is more than appreciation, it’s acknowledgment of the emotional strength, quick thinking, and unwavering dedication required to do this job. Every call answered is a life touched, a crisis managed, and a community made safer.
To every 911 professional, thank you for being the voice of calm, the lifeline in emergencies, and the unseen force that keeps everything moving forward when it matters most.
