Last night, Roslyn Fire Company members were back on the training ground, putting in the work required to stay ready for real-world emergencies.
Crews worked on wet line hose advancement, practicing how to move and control charged hose lines while operating as a team. Members also reviewed nozzle flow patterns and how different stream selections can be used depending on fire conditions and the task at hand.
The drill also gave newer pump operators the opportunity to practice supplying multiple hand lines at the same time, helping build confidence in managing water flow, pressure, and coordination between the engine and crews on the line.
Training then shifted to firefighter rescue skills, where members practiced proper techniques for dragging and removing a downed firefighter. It is a physically demanding skill, but one that is critical when a firefighter needs help.
Every drill night is another opportunity to improve, work together, and prepare for the moments when our community — or one of our own — may be counting on us.
Roslyn Fire Company is 100% volunteer, and our members continue to dedicate their time to training, teamwork, and service.

Great work by all who attended.
