In 1978, Roslyn was placed on the National Register of Historic Places and designated as a National Historic District.

Public Notice:

Crews will begin felling standing dead trees in the Roslyn Urban Forest today. The unit has multiple blow downs from the winter storm and additional standing dead. Crews will fell and buck the trees. Material will be machine piled and burned this Fall when fire danger subside. There will be occasional closing of trails - please mind the signs - but crews will always maintain an option through the RUF on one of the three trails. Please do not approach machinery or felling crews. Ewok will not be impacted. Roslyn Fire/ Upper Kittitas County Fuels Crew will be conducting the work with assistance from WA DNR and other agencies. The project is funded by the WA DNR. Impacted unit is shown in the map attached in blue and labeled "In Progress - Machine Pile 2026."

Join the Community Work Party to help Roslyn Urban Forest!

When: Saturday June 13, 2026 from 9:00 AM to Noon

What: We'll walk 10 minutes up the trail and prune small trees that are growing in dense pockets after the area was logged. Please bring hand loppers, pruners or small hand saws. Also bring any safety equipment you feel you need (e.g. gloves or eye-protection).

Where: Meet at the E Nevada Avenue trailhead. Parking is limited, please pull well off to the side, consider carpooling, or walk to the trailhead.

This effort is hosted by the Roslyn Citizen Advisory Committee.
