🥚 Easter Monday: The tradition of pomlázka and merrymaking

📅 Today, Czech villages and towns celebrate Easter Monday with pomlázka (willow whips), eggs and laughter.

Easter Monday follows Easter Sunday in a more informal way - in the Czech Republic it is associated with folk customs such as whipping girls with willow whips, which according to pagan customs is supposed to ensure health and fertility. In some places, the tradition of pouring water over them is also preserved. In return, girls give boys painted eggs or sweets.
