📚✨THE $0 BOOK FAIR IS COMING✨📚
Remember Book Fair Day?
The little paper flyer. Circling everything you wanted. The books. The posters. The sparkly pens. The ridiculous erasers. The notebooks you absolutely DID NOT NEED but somehow desperately needed. 😂
We remember something else, too.
We remember being the kid who knew not to circle too much.
The kid whose parents simply couldn't afford the extras that week.
The kid watching classmates come back with bags full of treasures while you didn't get anything.
So we're doing Book Fair Day a little differently around here.
❤️ Welcome to The Neighbors' $0 Book Fair.
Books? $0.
Stickers? $0.
Pens and pencils? $0.
Notebooks and journals? $0.
Bookmarks? $0.
Erasers, art supplies and all those weird little treasures kids inexplicably lose their minds over?
$0.
We want the WHOLE experience.
We're even making old-school Book Fair flyers so kiddos can circle what they're hoping to find. They'll get to come in, shop the tables, pick their own things and take their treasures to our checkout.
And their total?
$0.00.
No applications.
No explaining your circumstances.
No proving you need help.
Every kid is invited.
Because sometimes families have plenty. Sometimes things are tight. And sometimes a kid just really wants the sparkly gel pen.
They shouldn't have to know the difference ❤️
And here's the part that makes us the most emotional:
We can do this because of you, Rossford.
Every person who has dropped a few dollars into a donation jar. Every person who has paid for a child's book. Every person who has walked in carrying a stack of books from home. Every local business that has offered to help. Every person who has shared our posts, walked through our doors, bought a cup of coffee, or simply believed in what we're trying to build here.
You did this.
Your generosity has turned this little coffee shop and bookstore into something so much bigger than we ever imagined. And now we get to take all of that kindness you've poured into us and pour it right back into the kids in our community.
The $0 Book Fair belongs to Rossford.
It's neighbors taking care of neighbors. It's making sure no kid has to stand on the sidelines on Book Fair Day. And it's proof of what can happen when an entire community decides to show up for its kids.
We're just lucky enough to have a place where all of that kindness can land. ❤️
We're going to need our neighborhood's help to pull this one off, so we'll be sharing ways for individuals and local businesses to donate books, supplies, goodies or sponsor parts of the fair very soon.
Our goal is simple:
Give these kiddos the most ridiculously magical Book Fair Day we possibly can.
