June 1st has come and gone much like any summer day warm, sunny, and full of promise. For some it is just another day, but for those who have been blessed to be apart of something special it was the 30 year anniversary of the Rossford Fire & Rescue Department's Explorer Post.
With family and personal schedules and events pulling us in every direction it was sad the current post leadership missed this very important mile stone for the current membership and alumni membership.
To the Vascik brothers Robert, Jr. and Richard for bringing the youth program to the City of Rossford in 1992 and to Chief Tony Jackson (ret.) for saying "yes." A simple thank you is not enough. The organization all of you started has touched and changed the lives of so many young adults in the area these past 30 years.
The Rossford Fire/Rescue Explorer Post 790 has been and is the spark which has lighten a conflagration in it's members to procure their dreams of firefighting or helping others. One cannot look at any of the area fire departments without seeing Post 790's members and the impact they bring their departments. Post 790 is not limited to the area but nationwide.
It is not just the founders of Post 790 we take a moment to thank but for the great adult leaders, youth, and the unwavering support from the City of Rossford Fire & Rescue Department's chiefs, firefighters, and area fire department. All have made the experience great and helped flourish the post at every turn.

Thank you for a great 30 years!
