Ever wondered what books your kid would choose if they were in charge of the library? Now’s their chance to show us!

We’re super excited to launch our brand-new Kid Librarian program! We’re handing the reins over to our young patrons in grades K–5th to curate their very own themed book display right here in the children’s section.

Whether your child is obsessed with dragons, space adventures, graphic novels, or books featuring talking animals, they can pick their favorite theme, select the books, and design a display to share with the whole community.

How it works:

Who: Kids in Grades K–5th

What: Pick a theme, choose 5–10 library books, and set up a custom display (with a little help from our youth staff!)

It’s a fantastic way to build confidence, share a love of reading, and let our youngest patrons see their ideas take center stage. Plus, they get an official "Kid Librarian" badge to wear while setting up!

Books & Bunnies - Tuesday, August 11, drop-in from 2-4pm
The bunnies are back! Join us for a fun and cozy afternoon of reading with furry friends! Kids ages k-5th grade are invited to share their favorite stories or pick from our collection of children’s books to read to adorable, friendly bunnies. This unique program helps promote literacy, build confidence in young readers, and create a special bond with animals. Hop on over for this pawsitively delightful event.

Ready to design your own video game? Our teen volunteer will teach you how to use Scratch, a super fun, block-based coding platform. Learn the basics of game design and bring your ideas to life! No experience necessary, just bring your creativity.
Library Chromebooks provided.
Ages 6th-12th grade.
